Check by the battery. There is a host of vacuum lines that can be broken. Or a bad check valve. The vacuum Reservoir is built into the back of the battery tray if I remember correctly
All in all I did the job in 4 hours. Yeah my work is small but we specialize in European cars. So a ford is pretty “easy”. Worst part was not having the line up pins for the slides. But I used small drill bits instead. I got the ford repair kit from ebay. Definitely no way to do it with out...
My 05 EB Has hitch and plug. You will need to Install a electric brake controller. I tow every weekend dump trailer is 5k+. And my horse trailer is 4klbs empty. Just did 160mile trip and averaged 10.7mpg (3”lift with 33” tires). doing 65-70. I wouldn’t go much past 7k lbs. sl load is good for...
I upgraded my 05 expo’s 110 amp to 135 from rockauto. 150 for a brand new one. 1-1/2 later still kicking. Any Napa one I’ve used have died every year. Might just be my bad luck. But I won’t buy another reman starter or alternator again. With all loads on at idle 13.5 volts is acceptable. Low...
Does anyone know what fisher push plates mm2 ones fit my 05 expedition. I’m leaning towards f-150 ones. But they are 700$. Any help appreciated. I found a set of expedition 97-03 ones for 275. But unsure if they will fit the frame. Thanks!!!
Change rear differential fluid and put in limited slip additive. For the vibration. The rear diff has a drain built into the cover. Easy to do. As for the radio. Go see a local radio installer and see if there is an adapter for it. Otherwise it’s prob lost with the factory radio.
I gave up on moog 10 years ago. Nothing about them is good anymore. Lifetime replacement warranty. Means you will be replacing for a lifetime. I put a set of ISG uppers in mine. About a year ago. Seem to be holding up well so far. It’s a 05 with 3” lift with 285-70r17
Yes the front hubs disconnect from the driveshaft. But due to the A4x4 some drag is normal and the driveshaft may still turn a bit while driving. Both my 05 and 10 do this. If the transfer case is locked in. You can not turn the front and rear shafts independently of each other.
I’d check the tougue weight. I pull 6-7k lbs weekly in my 05. With a dump trailer. Only time it bottoms out is when it’s loaded front heavy. It has 185k. I replaced all the struts and springs 10k ago when one rusted and broke. I got motorcraft replacements from rock auto.
Yeah. 10 years or 100k. On a factory fill coolant. Then every 5 years or 50k after that. They probably recommend sooner because of the extra heat with the turbos. If you do a lot of towing. Do the 5 year 50k interval. Do a thermostat at the same time. Cheep money for peace of mind. I do it...
I thought it was piston slap too in my 05 5.4. Was just cam phasers. I did them with all timing components at 134k. Has 180+ on it now. Also I’m using 5-30 oil. As it uses 1 quart of oil every 800 miles or so.
There is a small amount of play in the hub/ cv joint is due to the vacuum locking front hubs. However check them with a vacuum gauge to make sure they hold. I just had to replace them in my 2010 expo I would be turning around a rotary and hear a metal clanging noise. Come to find out the left...
