    2007 expedition key

Find a mobile locksmith who will come to your house, get it done for half the price of the dealer. I've found that it's always much easier to have the person who cuts it also program it and test it. These keys can be a pain. Others may have other results...just my 2 cents.

    Goodbye old friend...

Finally decided to retire my 2010 Limited at 218K miles. I thought I was going to hang onto her a bit longer, but had 3 issues happen in the last 3 weeks so I decided it was time. Brake caliper hanging up, tailpipe fell off, and radiator hose blew. I know those are small issues but since I do...

Dead at the Dealership Parking Lot

I had something similar happen last year. AC Compressor seized, belt was shrieking (but did not bend the tensioner). Took the belt off, drove it 2 miles to a shop and had the entire AC system replaced for around $1300 I think.

How to install clips in 2015 Expedition

This thread made me laugh. I've watched a half-gallon bottle of bourbon cover my driveway on two different occasions. You would have thought I'd learn after the first time, but sometimes I'm a little dense. After that, I always unloaded groceries through the back glass. The cargo net is a...

Intake Manifold Removed....Now What? (2014 EL)

X2. Simply because I don't like setting on the side of the road waiting on a tow truck.

    2010 identify part?

It's the vapor canister purge valve. See this: https://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/2010/ford/expedition/air_intake/purge_valve.html

    Navigation/GPS is WAY off...

You just jogged my memory...thanks! I had the radio out of the truck a few months ago to replace the blend door actuator. I wonder if I forgot to reconnect the GPS sensor cable. That's about when it started not working. I will check it out...thanks!

    Navigation/GPS is WAY off...

Recently my 2010 Limited started displaying "no GPS" message, and the map shows me anywhere from 10 to 200 miles away from my actual location. When I'm moving, the map is moving as well. It just thinks I'm somewhere else. It's actually really funny, especially when it thinks you are in the...

Did I get a crappy year Expedition?!?!? Part fitment issues. . . .

My 2010 has electric fan, mounted on the radiator. There is no clutch fan. Maybe that's the issue...

Can’t find transmission fluid leak, output shaft?

X2 on the bulkhead connector. My 2010 has dripped in that same spot through 3 or 4 transmission flushes, new gaskets, etc, until I discovered the problem with the bulkhead connector. 2 new O-rings from Ford dealer ($11) and another flush, and it's been dry as a bone for months now. There are...

    A/C questions

My a/c compressor seized up the other day after a long drive in very hot weather. I decided to let a shop fix it, and do it correctly. Replaced the compressor, condenser, receiver, etc. $1,100 with a lifetime warranty. Probably not the smartest move, but I'm on a mission to see if I can get...

5w30 as soon as possible? 5.4 3 valve

I hear almost no timing chain rattle at startup since switching to 5w30. When I was using 5w20, there was much more rattle. I was ready to bite the bullet and do the chain/tensioners/guides replacement but tried switching oil weights first. That was 5 years ago. I know I am prolonging the...

5w30 as soon as possible? 5.4 3 valve

Yes absolutely. I've been running Mobil 1 5w30 for the last 5 years. I'm at 210,000 miles and no timing or phaser work so far. Fingers crossed...

    Front seat cushion swap?

Your right! No swapping the covers...oh well. Thanks for that details!

    Front seat cushion swap?

The bottom cushion on my 2010 Limited drivers seat is starting to break down. It's mostly the leather but also the foam. This idea just hit me the other day...is it possible to swap the front drivers and passengers seat cushions? I'm not suggesting the entire seat...just the part your butt...

Bikes and/or Kayaks on the roof???

X2. By putting them on the roof of the popup, you also won't have to be as concerned with height, and it will be more aerodynamic. In addition, they will be WAY easier to load/unload. There are many options for pop up camper roof racks that would clear the obstructions. But yeah, keep an eye...

    Pulls right when braking

This may or may not be your situation, but I thought I'd share what's been going on with my Expy. As you all are aware, the power steering cooler is part of the AC condenser, which sits in front (or behind...can't remember) the radiator. Recently, a crack has developed on the top passenger...

Child lock and auto unlock questions

Correct, if the rear door is locked, the inside handle won't open it. I believe the child lock switch disables the inside handle from opening the door at any time, even when it's unlocked. The only solution I've found when adults are riding in the back is to select 'auto unlock' in the setup...

Yep that's a vacuum line that releases the front hub when not in 4WD/AWD

Yep I totally blew this one. Reading too fast. My apologies.

    Trailer hitch

I stand corrected..you are right. And I also found the hitch. It appears it is orderable. Check this website: https://www.thefordparts.com/a/Ford_2010_Expedition-Limited-Sport-Utility-54L-Triton-V8-FLEX-AT-4WD/_51505_6472551/REAR-BUMPER-BUMPER--COMPONENTS/MC07985.html

    Trailer hitch

The factory receiver hitch is welded onto the frame. Any after market bolt on unit would require the factory receiver to be removed by breaking the welds. This is probably why you can't find a replacement.
