How long did you wait for cam phaser parts?

Mine started rattling around Christmas. Don't know how common it is on 19's v. 18's, but my Ford dealer here in DFW told me to pound sand. Took advantage of the high used resale values going on because of the COVID nonsense and sold the damn thing. Really do want to support an American company...

    Planning to buy 2020 Expedition

1.) Fit and finish have been great on my Expy, no issues here to report. I had one sunroof rattle/squeak but there was a TSB out for it and the dealer took care of it. 2.) Ride is really good, keeping in mind the Platinum has the CCD shocks that don't have the leaking problem/are smoother...

    What Could Ford Do Better?

If I leave my car running and locked I DO NOT need it to shut off after 30 minutes. For the love of God if I turn off the auto stop-start, leave it! I shouldn’t have to spend $100 aftermarket to disable it permanently. BMW has figured this out. Definitely concur on the lift gate. The window...

Panoramic Moon Roof..Good idea or asking for trouble?

All I can say is that it looks incredible and is nice to have, but ~11K miles in on my 19’ the dealer had to take apart my headliner to replace the tracks, it kept rattling badly. Others have had some issues too, but if you are planning on buying a Ford ESP I say go for it!

    Hypermiling in an Ex?

Fair question, I’ve run probably 5-6 tanks on the regular fuel. I’ve done probably 70/30 city/highway. Very consistent in my experience, we might have different experiences due to having different gen Ecoboosts with different tunes. At the end of the day @Robert McMillan is right. The way I see...

    Hypermiling in an Ex?

Based on how it feels from the drivers seat, the Expy definitely drives a tad quicker and shifts smoother on premium fuel. I've also noticed on premium (93 -Texas) I get 15.4MPG average vs. 12MPG on 87. I've heard using non-ethanol fuel you'd get higher MPG's as well but cannot confirm this.

    Fuel and emissions issue

What are you talking about? The entire world obviously drives a 94' Toyota Celica.

    Strange tranny behavior (I think).

From a technical perspective I can’t explain it. However even around town when I floor it, my Expy does exactly as you described. It’s shocking (to my passengers), to me I have the extended warranty and don’t care what it does. My dealer explained that the transmission is designed for smooth...

2021 Expedition news wanted! (needed actually)

Even when you take away reliability, remember that diesels cost a fortune to maintain compared to a gas vehicle! My older diesel Land Rover (funny enough it had the 3.0L Powerstroke Ford engine) required $750 in maintenance every 15K miles, mostly from a fuel filter change and DEF refill.

    $4k for a new sunroof?

I would ask Ford if they will consider covering all or part of the repair cost as a goodwill gesture. A repair like this should *NOT* be required so soon. Mine did the exact same thing at 11K miles and spent a week at the dealer being repaired under warranty. Hearing the true cost of this work...

    Top Tier Gas

I understand that for sure, going to the dealer can be a hassle. I wish Ford provided the same valet repair service they do on Lincolns - considering these trucks cost more than most Lincolns!

    Top Tier Gas

I know you said you don't care for brand discussion, but based upon the previous facts stated (most stations don't refine their own oil & buy where they sell volume), you can't go wrong with Costco. It's Top Tier (They add in 3X the EPA required detergents), they receive daily fuel deliveries...

Getting Max A/C on Remote Start

I wouldn't say Max A/C is useless when it starts. One of the things I really like about Ford's is how within 10-15 seconds the air comes out COLD, so having the fan on max and re-circulation on helps. European cars aren't as good in this regard. I've been meaning to make some other changes in...

Thank you! At least there's an answer for what it's doing.

Getting Max A/C on Remote Start

Hi all! Tried searching for an old thread on this but nothing turned up so I figured I'd ask around. Is there any way to activate Max A/C or at least your last-used climate setting upon remote starting? It's been pretty hot here in Texas lately and I find myself using the remote start more and...

    New Owner Recommendations

I wish I had tinted my sunroof earlier! Even with my Expedition being white on tan AND having some of the best A/C I've ever seen it still got way too warm. Llumar makes a clear tint that reflects UV rays and makes a surprising difference. Some members on here have tinted most of their glass and...

    Gas mileage

I have about 12K miles on my 19’ Max Platinum w/ tow package. In the city I’ll get about 15 and on the highway 18 mpg. Full disclosure I have a heavy foot, much more boost than eco :driver: This is all with 93 octane, if I use regular gas, oh Lord does my MPG drop. Maybe 10.5 city 14 hwy.

Tinting an expedition with privacy glass

I would have to agree with @bushpilot! I owned a Land Rover which had a clear film installed from the dealer on it, thought I got scammed. Let me tell you, that $600 clear film has been hit with all sorts of road debris (mostly rocks). Not only did that vehicle's windshield look much better than...

    Ford Gun Safe

That’s exactly what I want! The Ford Safe definitely seems to be an identical product to Locker Down & Console Vault but $70 more for the privilege of having a blue oval. Look forward to installing it! Thanks @DobermanTech

    Ford Gun Safe

Has anyone installed the Ford Safe (we all know it’s for handguns mostly) in their Expedition yet? I’m really curious about how it installs, can it be easily removed by a burglar? Anyone had experience with it? Good or bad! I’m intrigued by it because when I was a college student, UT Dallas...

Maybe the New GM is good?

I feel like the new GM trio would be good! Years ago I owned a 2015 GMC Yukon Denali, loved that truck. The ride may have not been even close to my Expedition and it had it's fair share of electrical issues in the 15K miles I owned it, but the build quality was impressive. Took it on a 4K mile...

    Ordered an air intake!

Nope! I've been doing this to my cars since I was 16 and had a 2.0T VW. The only time I ruined a MAF sensor was after 38K miles I decided I'd re-oil the K&N air filter myself and installed it with too much oil on the filter. Now I just buy a new K&N air filter every 25K miles or so and drop it...

    Ordered an air intake!

@Dice Roll If all you want is more turbo whistle, I’ve had great success installing a drop-in K&N air filter into the factory box! More than likely isn’t going to provide as much whistle as a cold air intake, but for $40 and a trip to Walmart I couldn’t be happier.

My favorite cool "feature" although not listed on the brochure, is how people kindly exit the fast lane if you come up behind them.:peace:
