03 EB not 4X4

so my dad bought this 03 Expy and for some reason decided he did not like it. so he sold it to me. at first i didn't really like it so much but now i love it. ride is smooth, sitting tall; its a good feeling. anyway, truck did have a few problems. for starters the passenger side bearing is going out
the a/c goes out when accelerating,
its not the 4x4,
to name a few. but either way Ive been driving it for a while now d i love the space. i have plans for it like a 2-3 inch lift even though its not 4x the 5.4 Triton can still handle some off-roading, already have a stereo and audio system installed. but yeah she is still my baby and as any of you i want her to look her est all the time

So how much cash do you have?
What is the primary thing you want to do with it?
How many miles on it?

The bearing issue is a good learning experience. You should be able to find write-ups on that. I'd fix it as it will teach you a lot about the suspension and front end setup.

The AC issue is dependent on how you are accelerating. There is a switch to cut it off at WOT (wide open throttle). If that is how you accelerate, that is it. Other wise check the condition of your belt and tensioner first, then the freon level, etc...

As for off road in a 4x2... it can be done somewhat. Better (maybe bigger) tires and a rear limited slip or locker are a must. The first thing to check is what rear axle you have.

Find this label on you Expy:
Vehicle Configuration Label Drive Axle Gear Ratios

Find the axle code and search in in Google. This will let you know the gear ratio and whether it is open or limited slip.

The suspension lift kits are out there, and consist of spacers for the strut mounts.

The front bearing on the passenger side is pretty easy, instruction-wise. Only thing I had to do that required some effort was taking the actual thing off, since it was seized on. A long pipe to the back of the bearing and beating on it with a BFH got it off. Have someone to catch/hold it.

As for the AC, I know I've seen the issue mentioned before. Try searching for it. I think it involves something freezing?

well apparently i have the code H6 which says its a limited slip diff. and as far as the bearing goes by girlfriends dad is going to help me with it tomorrow. i know how but i dont have the proper tools and he is a mechanic so he definitely does. ill try posting up pics in a bit

it also makes like a rubbing noise whenever i turn and take off. no matter how i accelerate or how little i turn. looking through the pages and some said that it was the oil in the rear diff. could that be it
