03 eb sub upgrade???

I have searched for hours for an upgraded factory location enclosure.
Cant find a damn thing as far as a factory fit box.

So im thinking a 8" audiopipe dvc sub and a mini amp may be my next best option.

Does anybody have the specs for the max mounting depth for the oe plastic box?

Kinda answers my question. So it seems there is no aftermarket box for the 03 but the gen 3 box will fit supposedly.

kl stealth box...says it only for extended expeditions but it will fit

They are pretty proud of that box, 700$!
How does the factory box sound with an aftermarket sub and amp?
Or sill it blow apart with some real thump.
I may need to just brush up on my fiberglass skills and make my own box.

There's no difference with factory sub with aftermarket hu. ..the sub has an amp of its own and its only 50 watts...if u want the box out of the way so u can have clear space that box is the way to go or have a friend or shop custom build it in the panel...should be cheaper than $700...maybe $400-$500 depending if u buy the sub from the shop...maybe...if they're slow u may get a deal...I have my amp in there now...

I misread ur question...I would unplug the sub if u go external sub...u wont hear it...its more like mid bass and being in the back u wont hear it...u want mid bass up front with u...not in back...check out the box in my photo album...2-12s in a down firing box made for expedition and u can find this box on ebay for about $75
