Okay I've seen some references to the McKesh towing mirrors and them being a very good mirror. I recently picked up a set of cida universal tow mirrors with the single hold down in the middle that attaches to the existing mirror and i have to say I was very disappointed. We had to readjust the darn things every some many miles. The fact that it only has the single hold down in the middle probably is the biggest reason why this mirror doesn't stay.. Two hold downs (one in front and one towards back) would have helped..

Anyways, my question is, has anyone tried the telescoping tow mirrors?
The ones made by visiocorp seem nice in the fact that they would replace the oem mirrors but I'd like to know if anyone has tried them and what they liked or didn't like..?

(here's a link- http://www.etrailer.com/p-CM76020.html)

Before I shell out some $450 I'd like to know they are worth it.. The Mckesh are nice but I'd be worried about my paint on the door, although from the feedback I've seen here it seems to be a non-issue..

thanks for any info..

WOW the price for those is STEEP! I also am trying to find something that would be cheaper but better than a universal setup. Any ideas?

Hey I'd like to find a set of mirrors also for my rig a 2006 but I have the factory approach lights and indicator lights so I cannot seem to find anything unless I go with a complete replacement. I know they make a slide over option for the Expedition without the side lights something like this - but this one doesn't seem to be listed for a 2003 - I am sure I found them for that year before... oh well here is a link so you get the idea

2003 Towing Mirrors

Hi all. I had trouble finding removable tow mirrors for our 2003 Expedition XLT 5.4 before picking up my new 25 foot travel trailer, so I borrowed a set of **** 11300 from my buddy w/ 1999 Expedition. See **** 11600 Custom Towing Mirrors - Walmart.com . $39. I removed the snap in spacers and turned the little tensioner knob all the way in and slid them on over my mirrors, R on right and L on left. I used a couple of 7" ball bungees to hold them in place by looping the elastic loop of 2 bungees around the knob, going around either side of the mirror base and linking the ball ends on the rear side of the base. They worked great for 25 miles and I have since bought a pair and have now towed 1000 miles w/ no vibration, good adjust-ability and visibility and about 20 seconds to install or remove. It has been a great solution for us! dannman57
