I have an 05 Expedition EB with the auto climate control. On a recent trip up north it got chilly so I turned on the heat. After the truck warmed up I still didn't get heat out of the driver's side vents. I got heat at the passenger vents as well as the back. This leads me to think it is the blend door for the driver's side only. Does anyone know where this is at in the HVAC module? Do you have to roll the entire IP to get to it? I'm thinking it is the actuator motor. I tried to cycle the temp but it didn't work.

By driver's side, do you mean the left 2, or just the one on the far left (by the door?)

Did they offer dual climate control for driver and passenger side?

Yes, they offered to dual zone auto climate control in 05'. It is very nice when it works. By drivers side I mean than air comes out of all vents across the front (driver and passenger). When each of the temperature settings are increased to max temp (90°) only the passenger vents (right 2) vents get heat. The drivers vents (left 2) still have air coming out but it is not hot. I am not wondering if it is the blend door or maybe the drivers temp sensor. I really just need to know where they are so I can check them. I live in Phoenix so heat is not a real big deal except when we take a trip up north.

Heater Core

rk.....

For 2 years I drove with great heat in the back, but only cool air coming out of the dashboard. (99 XLT)

Then this year, no heat in rear either. 8-(

Turns out the front heater core was clogged. My mechanic says it will take him 8 hours to rip and strip out my dash and replace it. Wanted 650.00 to do it.

He flushed the core for me, and fixed the issue.

Get the car hot, pop the hood, and find the heater core hoses. There's 2 hoses that go thru the firewall to the heater core.

They are on the passenger side. The heater core is behind the glove box. If one hose is hot, and the other one is cool, the core is clogged or could be bad.

Note that there is a second heater core, its in the rear of the truck, and is accessed from inside, its on the drivers side, above the wheel well. Thats a 50.00 part, he swapped that out in 30 mins.

After parts swapping, core flushing, thermostat replacing we were only getting luke-warm heat.

The top and bottom radiator hoses werent getting hot enough.
Turns out the impellers on the water pump were worn off.

Popped in a new water pump, heat issue resolved!
