06 EB clunking on mild acceleration

Check the vacuum lines to your front axle locks. Could have a mild leak causing them to lock up when engine vacuum is low. Would be more of a grinding noise but check it all the same

Based on my experience with how you said it's jerking, I'd go with a bad COP. Definitely shell out for the Motorcraft ones.
