New member here and 1st time Ford owner. I own a black 06 Expedition XLT Sport 2WD and have loved driving it for the past 27,000+ miles. I have been wanting to get rid of the POS Continental tires and have decided on this setup:

2-3" Truxxx leveling kit:

17x8.5 American Racing Black Clash Wheels

BFG A/T - 315/70/17

The Truxxx website says I can only fit 33's, but I see from one of the other threads that "croatone" got this rubber to fit under his expy with a light torsion crank. Just wondering if anyone has any comments or words of wisdom on the kit, wheels or tire before I begin purchasing/installing this setup.

Thanks in Advance,

Dum ole' Flaw-duh boy.

I had email Daystar and they had sent me a email.

"you were referred to us by Daystar. You were looking for information on the Expedition coil spacer kit. I too have been looking every where for a picture of an Expedition with the kit. I just can't come up with any either for you, guess you'll just have do the kit and send us some!!!...LOL As far as tire size you can run a 285 series or 33" tire nicely. Some of our customers are getting a 35" all terrain tread on the F150, but it still sits just a bit higher than the Expedition. I hope this atleast helps you a bit. The kit front and rear would run you $249.00 plus shipping.
Please let us know if we can help."

Those 315x70x17's are actually a 34" diameter so hopefully they would fit. I am willing to do a little modification, but would rather not. I just want the biggest tire I can fit without having to do a full suspension lift. I also like the Truxxx lift vs the Daystar cause it looks a little more sturdy. Oh well, guess I will have to try it and post some pics! Thanks for the input jlw.

Would still like to hear from "Croatone" on this issue if you're out there...

gr82bag would be right in stating the tires are 34" tall. If Im correct the new 03 up expeditions have larger wheel wells. I had to trim about 3/4" from the front bumper valence. I still have the faintest rubbing when i back down a steep driveway while turning. I also have a faint rubbing noise coming while turning all the way left or right.I think it rubs on the frame rail because I have stock wheels. I just dont turn all the way now. It doest really hurt anything but I dont like the light rubbing noise. I would think a 305/70/17 like the Maxxis or 295/70/17 nitto would be a perfect fit for the average guy. I like to go big and dont mind slight annoyances. I could crank the torsion bars a hair more and the rubbing while turning would probably go away. I am lazy lately though. My brother has 285/70/17s on a 06 f150 2wd. They dont rub ever he says. This is why I think the wheel wells are a little bigger. I have had great luck with daystar so I like them. I had them on my 99 jeep wrangler also.
