'07 multiple misfires

Engine runs fine until hard acceleration, will set code if you stay into it. Found white corrosion inside terminal where coiled spring attaches to coil. Replaced one coil but figure there all going to be corroded. Can these coils just be cleaned up and coat terminal with dielectric grease or is replacement in order to get long term fix?

How are the plugs? Also, depending on the year, the plugs may/may not be the 2 piece style. Either way, unless the plugs are fairly new, I'd start there.
I put new ones in mine (in sig) a week or so ago, cleared up a cyl 8 misfire. It would only come on during heavy acceleration, such as when I'd pass someone, or merge onto the highway.

Surely, clean them and always use the grease on the spring ends whenever you take them out. Too many people replace the cops when they didn't have to. My stock ones had over 200k mikes on them when I sold my last truck (and the rotors were original).

Thanks for reply's, the inside bottom of coil is where the corrosion is at, it a spade terminal. Plugs have been replaced, truck is an '07 (in title) with about 136,000 miles, plugs have 19,000 miles on them.

You can get Chinese coils for like 60 bucks for all 8.

I've had mine for a few years, seem to work ok. If you're worried about em being like 500 bucks cheaper than Motorcraft, just stick one of your old ones from a cylinder that didn't throw codes in your trunk or glove compartment.

I'm looking at my original stock coils and the first show significant corrosion. I replaced them with unbranded eBay about 20k miles ago, and kept them for spares. It looks like they will clean up ok. I think I will clean up the rest of the OEMs and keep the seconds as backup.

Fyi - There are noticable differences between mine in the spring dimensions. The aftermarket springs were an inch or so shorter in length and have a smaller diameter, checking it against a spare plug I have laying around. The OEM spring end will easily slide down onto the plug terminal but the other will not and sits on top. I mean, I could force it down with difficulty onto the terminal of a spare plug, but not likely to happen with spring tension alone by pushing the coil and boot down.
