09+ navigation system update

How do you update the nav system? If you cant, how can you put in addresses not in the database?

If you've got a hard drive based system, buy the update from Ford (150 or so) follow the instructions, pop in the DVD(s) and an hour or so later you're updated. Addresses aren't so much the problem as searching for POI's in outdated nav units
