Im looking at coil springs at advanceauto.com because I HATE the ones I have in there now for the rear. they are bouncy and are extremely stiff (i can get the back tires off the ground on a speed bump). BUT i got them for $20 at a junk yard and they fit perfectly in the spots and are like the exact same size as the expy's... So i was looking and I found these http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product__19710036-P_50_R|GRPSHOCAMS____ they look really cool and while I know they wont solve my problems I was just thinking how badass it would be to have coilovers in the front and in the back. I am also just contemplating getting monroe part #90010, because my front coilovers are for the navigator and the ones for the 4wd expedition are 2 or 3" longer which would just all around be better for the truck and the Tbars.
idk, thoughts anyone

we probably ought to get to talking about that. DONE with the shot air ride on Monstro... He needs love in that department.

(285's would be killer.. and a running board delete, I can sell her on the idea of the first, but not the latter.. she be SHORT!!)

Expeditionary, I think your big issue will be whether the shock mount can handle the load of the full weight of the truck or not. The front mounts are much more stout than the rears. I would be questioning the long term survivability of the shock mounts. To do something like this properly, you would need to have the old shock mounts removed and then some new, heavier ones welded in place. It can be done, but are you willing to spend all the money necessary to make it work?

i was thinking about running c/os on my truck. i was talking with a few guys and it can be done. but with some SHORT c/os. like 8 or 10" stork shocks. you would have to custom mount them to the side or top of the axle. and the top mounts wont work as well anymore since the driver side as the gas tank and there can be some clearance issues as full bump. but thats just what i see. i say go for it. but i do agree with thermo. you might have to cut off and reweld on some stronger axle mounts.

no no no these arent replacements for the coil springs just a different stiffer shock. Like I have coilovers up front but they couldnt hold up the truck with out the Tbars.

The same as these coilovers wouldnt support the weitght of the truck at all with out the rear coils.

I need new coil springs for the rear and new shocks and I was thinking that this would be a good thing to do for shocks. Not as a replacement for the coils lol

its useless then. why get c/os and coils? just get some nice shocks. would be cheaper to do too.
