Hey y'all.

So I'm the kind of guy that always carries a bit of random stuff just in case. This includes but is NEVER limited to a tow rope, jump leads, trailer hitch and ball accessories, a few random tools, yadda yadda... My problem is that I really cannot find any good storage places in this truck aside from the center console (which is already almost full of other random crud...).

So, what have you guys built, bought, or jimmied in place to solve this issue?

I do want to keep my 3rd row seat down and usable at all times...

Thanks!

Tony

20 dollar toolbox from home depot. I have enough stuff in it that it never moves around. Everything else is in an old duffle bag.

is there room on the rear door hatch? you could probably custom make a tool kit built into the hatch - something similar to how volvo or BMW does. of course nothing too heavy (no bottle jack, or of similar weight)

I do not have the factory sub. I took the little storage comartment in the rear passanger side out and there is a large area that extends back to the jack area. This is where I have my jumpers, tow ropes, tools and all other misc stuff.

Do you keep the 3rd row down or up?

Not sure that's possible with these... I'd have to take the cover off but I'm not too jazzed about modifying anything...

I actually had a factory sub, I took that out and filled the space with my two amplifiers for my stereo system, so that won't work :-(

Awesome suggestion though!

I had the exact same situation. I went to the container store and bought two water tight boxes about 12"H 10"w 15"long. they sit side by side right behind the 3rd row. With the seat back up they stay in place over bumps. They slide a little side to side but its not a big deal. Then when you remove the third you can bungie them down to the seat brackets that are now open. I spent $15 bucks and they can be left outside overnight if I sleep in the back because they're watertight. Make sure to measure the distance between the closed door and the back of the seat as that's a very tight part with the boxes.

I have a large craftsman plastic tool box holds everything and if its behind the third row the third row up as for the trailer hitch I leave it in so when people like the rear end me and save the rest of the vehicle has already happened once since we have had our second one
