2000 EB gear shift cable

Since I bought the Expedition a year ago the indicator on the dash is off a gear. When in park the dash indicator points to R. It is off by one gear, in drive the indicator points to 2nd. Anyone have this problem, and know of a solution?

A lot of good videos, but I didnt see one about fixing the indicator pointing at the wrong gear.

It’s probably the upper gear shaft rod that is loose. Mine does the same thing on a 2000 EB, and I bought the piece online, which is extremely hard to find
