2001 blower comes on when ignition turns off!

After a torrential rain storm last night, my defrost/blower comes on full blast AFTER I turn the car off and take the key out. I've tried restarting and turning the car off with and without the air on. It stays on until the car is started again. Need help in disconnecting so battery will not die. Would like to replace myself if someone can tell me what needs to be done.

Try unhooking to negative side of the battery and reconnect. Should reset everything. If not, check back

My parents are in Wilmington, they got over 10 1/2 in 24 hours. Crazy rain but we needed it here

damn wish there was rain in SD. 100s lately. but if the batttery dosent fix it. idk wht fuse or relay it is but see if it needs to be replaced.

Was the carpet wet around the kick panel area? Don't some of the Expys have leaks in the windshield that lets water in some of the wiring/fusebox?

I had this same issue with my Expy 5 tears ago. After a hella-hardcore rain, the blower would turn on when the car was off. Don't worry about the battery, under the drivers side dash there is a relay you can pull to shut it off. I had my windshield tested, no leaks. No windows either. BUT, I had rust forming on my fuse box. I all honesty, for a few months, I just pulled the relay out when it rained. For some crazy reason, it fixed itself. I have never had the issue again.
