I got some suspension questions about my 2001 EB.

I was looking over some of the bushings on the control arms and noticed that some are looking pretty sad. I need to get an alignment done anyway and thought now would be a good time to change out the whole upper control arm for simplicity.

The problem is, while checking some sites for the parts, I can't find any control arms that are compatible. I have air ride suspension (air shocks front and bags to the rear) and none of them state they're for air ride or air suspension. So what do I do? Factory looks like the only option but even other parts like ball joints clearly state "not for OE parts"

Sure I could just replace the bushing, but if the control arm ever breaks, then am I screwed (besides OE)?

Do I have to, or is there any advantage to changing the entire suspension to just regular shocks and springs?

I installed the Monroe coil over conversion kit long time ago. Lasted 80k miles.
Just installed new kit 6 months ago.

I think the conversion is what most do, it was already done to mine when I bought it. Rockauto sells all versions as far a both bushings go and entire control arm assemblies.

The question I would have is when you do the conversion do you then order replacement parts for Expy WO air ride... or with air ride... LOL

I'd hazard to say w/o. Any of the upper arms I've been looking at almost all say w/o air ride / air suspension. The only ones that don't stipulate are the OEM ones. I'd guess you can use the regular suspension with the air ride upper control arms more than vice versa. Logically speaking anyway.

I had air ride on my EB and then did a conversion with all parts without air ride used the same control arms in the front and then redid the back suspension of all brand new. Works like a charm
