Hey guys I live in Michigan we got a lot of snow and I was driving the 2003 Expedition with 172k today and the ABS light came on and my ABS stopped working, the advance trac auto 4wd stopped working too. Dash says "check advtrac"..... If I put it to "Auto4wd" setting its just in 2wd still, but if I put it to actual "4wd" mode the 4x4 works. The 4x4 high light blinks in auto4wd mode. I took it and scanned the codes and I got:

C1963
B1342
C2778
C1285
U1900
U1901
C2777

Any Idea what these all could mean? Did something get messed up from all the snow we had and short circuited out? Not sure why all these codes would happen at once

Thanks!

Google the codes. I would expect an electrical (harness) issue with that many codes coming at one time.

Whoa Roxy thanks, not sure what to make of all that. When I checked the ABS codes with the reader I cleared them but they all came right back. I do know I got a right rear wheel speed sensor issue about 6 months ago that was never replaced, but that speed sensor code wasnt in the codes retrieved this time, I cleared it months ago it never came back

Basically is the ABS module fried or ?

Hey guys - if my right rear wheel speed sensor was bad, could this cause all these problems I'm having? It seems the tech articles say fix the other DTC's and re-run the test to check for more DTC's before succumbing to the B1342 ABS module death code DTC

Just want to check because like I said that was a known issue 6 months ago and wasnt fixed, but it is not listed in the current DTC's, it never came back once I cleared it awhile back

Also - the fuses Roxy referred to, are these in the central junction box by the passenger kick panel or is there a seperate Battery Junction Box"?

2 days later the ABS suddenly started working. The traction light is still on solidly, so took to mechanic they think everything is from the rear wheel speed sensor so I will be replacing that. For now the ABS is working thanks all for help hopefully I will get it to 100% working order

fwiw, mine did something like that - was bad wheel bearing. The wheel bearing was throwing off the sensor as it wobbled.

In order for the ABS to work correctly all of the wheel sensors have to be working and communicating with the ABS module.

You still have an issue with the traction control.
