Takes long time to get cold. I check the freon and it is full. Compressor appears to be working but I cant here it engage

If you can't hear it engage then step out raise the hood and look to see if its engaging.
What is the discharge temp at the dash vents and at what outside temp did you get the vent discharge temp.
What were the High and low pressure readings??
