Hey everyone. I just picked up an 04 expedition Eddie Bauer. It has a V8.

It doesn't idle great and when accelerating at higher speeds (60-70mph) the truck kind of shakes/vibrates/shudders. Ive heard spark plugs, I've heard coils. I don't think it's a transmission thing.
I'm looking for a great mechanic who is experienced in this generation of truck to help me diagnose the issue. I'm located in Connecticut. I could go to NY MA or RI for someone excellent. Thanks in advance.

Pull a plug and inspect it for wear. Anyone with a socket wrench and a pulse can do this. Compare the plug with pictures on Youtube to determine if you need new ones, which you probably do on an 18 year old truck. Don't let anyone talk you into replacing coils unless one is clearly diagnosed.

Good luck finding a competent mechanic.

Pulse ✅
Socket wrench....

Time to get myself some tools. Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a shot.
