Alright I'll bite. How long of a delay? What type of delay (won't select driving gear right away, indicator delays in displaying what gear it is in)? Blinking transmission O/D light? Any other odd occurrences?
Sorry for the short questions, but it will help people to give proper advice.
welcome!
all gears?
first thing in the morning or all day? does it vary with how much pressure you apply to the brake pedal?
have you checked your fluid level & its condition? was was the last filter & fluid change?
what year; how many miles; 2 or 4wd?
It is at random times. 2wd xlt. When you press the break and the button on the shifter you hear a click under the steering column but will not go out of park sometimes it tqkes 10 to 20 seconds and you hear a click in the shifting column and it will shift and sometimes you have to press the break down 2 or 3 times before you cqn put it in gear. It is like a relay or something going bad. Once you get it in gear everything works fine. Then sometimes there will be no problem at all.
Sounds like the brake interlock is getting a bit fussy. You may want to have that checked.
I have a 2007 4wd EL and I can here the interlock click when I step on the brake. When its really cold here (<20F) I noticed it will take a little longer to go into gear when everything is cold. Once warmed up its fine.
I Have the same problem it is delaying when i move from P to D only. The rest is Ok
this happen when i changed the oil and filter for the transmission. I use the recommended oil and filter but before that it was good Any suggestion?
