2008 expedition running bad with the A/C on?

my expedition runs fine when I dont have the ac on but once I turn the ac on the car becomes sluggish and just feels extremely down on power. It feels as if Im pulling something when the ac is on, and I know it will take a little bit of power but its kinda strange how bad it drives with the AC on. anyone have any ideas of what this could be or whats going on?

What is your idle speed with AC on and AC off?

Sounds like first off you need a tune up. Even though you think it had adequate power it probably doesn't . Besides that the AC compressor is possibly dragging, causing your power lag. Pull the belt, see if the AC clutch spins easy. Could be binding up.
