Hello fellow Expedition Owners.

I have a 2009 EL/MAX, and it has a aftermarket brake controller. I don't love the braker controller.

I'm wondering if the OEM controller is a good idea? Is it better than the aftermarket devices?

A friend of mine (2009 F-150) bought the OEM controller, installed it, and had the local dealership program it into the computer. Worked like a charm! Looks good, too.

So, what should I do? Get the OEM put in properly, or get a good aftermarket device?

Thanks all!

To install the OEM controller, you will need to also change out the brake master cylinder.

In my 2008 Expedition, I added a Tekonsha Prodigy. Works great. In my F250, I do have the OEM controller, and it is as good as everyone tells you it is.

Good luck.

I was under the impression that the OEM controller was only for the F-150+ series, not the Expedition. I'd like to install it too.

Starting in 2013 Ford put an OEM brake controller standard in the Limiteds and King Ranch and optional in other versions.
I haven't been able to find any info as to whether it can be retrofitted to older models though.
