Hello all. First post here. I'm new to the forum but not new to the expedition. We are on our 4th expedition and are looking at possible buying a new one. Not sure if we want to wait till the '15s come out. Our current '10 Limited has an over head DVD player that is tied into the SYNC radio. It looks like the only DVD option now is the headrest DVD players. My questions are:

1. Are the headrest DVD players tied into the SYNC radio like mine?
2. If 2 people want to watch the same movie, will it show on both screens with only ONE disk?
3. Any input from parents about how the kids in the 3rd row are able to see the screens or are they blocked by the 2nd row headrests?

Thanks all.

Our '12 King Ranch has the Invision dual headrest monitors. Two separate players but you have the option for one be the master player so both screens show the same movie. A third kid can sit in the middle of the third seat, but you'll have to buy another wireless headphone for them.

1) The tie in to the Sync system is ONLY available if the headrests were installed at the factory.
2) Either DVD player can see the other player. One is A and the other B. You select via the source. You can also use a USB connection or composite video/audio in.
3) Since there are two screens, people in the back seat should be able to see at least one of them.

Yes, you do need a third headset. However, the invision system does have the ability to send sound to the stereo via an FM channel. Not sure how that's technically done (RF or direct connect to antenna in) but it's the best FM interface I've heard.

Ordinarily, I would never buy a built in DVD player since I think they are overpriced. HOWEVER, mine came in a used 2011 I bought. I can tell you that if I were to get another one, I would ensure it had these with two kids, they are a lifesaver.
