2017 Expedition OEM LED Tail Lights

So, I can see in my owner's manual that there was a factory option for LED head lamps, tail lights, 3rd brake light, etc.

I'm interested in seeing what one of these oem led tail lights look like vs. swapping the bulbs for LED ones. Has anyone swapped a '17 regular bulb tail light for the oem led version?

I can't seem to find a part number for the OEM one. . .

The Ford printed owner’s manual that came with my new 2015 Ford Expedition Limited 4x4 had information about a heated steering wheel in the index (not available in 2015), had incorrect information and pictures about how to change the engine air filter, and had incorrect information and pictures about how to use the intelligent key fob in the front, center console.

Ford does a poor job of providing an accurate vehicle owner’s manual.

I tried a few LEDs in one side with the stock incandescents in the other, the stock side was brighter. The reflector for each type of bulb is different by design to make the best use of the filament's or "chip's" position and shape

Don't waste your $$$ on LEDs buy the whitest/brightest incandescents (I don't know if some of the hyper white bulbs would be better or not because they tend to put out a blue tinted light)

I just found these and it looks like they make LEDs for specific years and 2017 Expy shows some bulbs are available in both LED and incand but not for every light
My 2017 XLT has all incandescents/halogens

Swapping the stock tail bulbs for LEDs may result in hyperflash. This can be fixed using Forscan.

3d brake light and fogs are LEDs from the factory on my '17. You can get LEDs that won't hyperflash as they have some resistor or something in them; my aftermarket high beam bulbs are that type. I avoid LEDs at the rear since I tow a trailer from time to time and the Ford brake controller might be confused by them.

I did put extra bright LEDs in the backup light housings of both my cars to help getting into my driveway. No flashing on that circuit.

So I just put in some Nuvision LEDs for both the high and low beams. They look great, no hyper flash, etc. We’ll see how long they last, but so far so good.

Fogs yes, but LED 3rd brake light, you sure about that? That housing itself goes back to the 2001 Escape. I've bought and tossed more than a few aftermarket LED 3rd brake lights, they are nowhere near as bright as my aftermarket LED tail light housings.

Hyper flash generally refers to the turn signal circuit.

Now I'm not sure my high brake light is LED.

There may be two versions of the 3d brake light:

Central High-mounted Brake Lamp Bulb
1. Switch all of the lamps and the ignition off.
2. Remove the retaining bolts from the lamp assembly.
3. Remove the lamp and unclip the bulb holder.
4. Remove the bulb by pulling it straight out.

LED Central High-mounted Brake Lamp Bulb (If Equipped)
These lamps have LED bulbs. Contact an authorized dealer.
