My wife and I just bought a used 2018 Expedition Limited with 20k miles. A couple days after buying it, the vehicle will randomly show a bunch of random faults including “hill start assist” “traction control” “parking brake” and I think a couple others. We have taken it to the dealer and they have said the PCM is having a loss of communication somewhere between the 5 computer modules.
Unfortunately, this happens only intermittently while driving and the check engine light does not always stay illuminated. We left it with them for 2 weeks(got it back yesterday after it taking too long to find a fix). The dealer contacted Ford hotline and they gave them a sequence to follow and try to narrow down where the initial fault is happeneimg. Unfortunately to do that, the technician has to have diagnostic tool plugged in and have the fault occur while he is driving it in order to identify the culprit. Like I said we had it in for 2 weeks and they couldn’t get the car to throw the fault...and of course the next day while driving, the car jolted(feels like transmission slips) and threw the same exact faults that you have to hit “ok” to clear.
My wife is frustrated with this entire process as she thinks it’s stupid to pay that much for a car and them not be able to fix it. Have any of you all experienced this on the new expeditions? There have been now aftermarket mods made with leveling kit etc. please help!!
