I've searched the forum for this specific question but all I can find are questions pertaining to putting F-150 wheels on an Expedition, with most saying you will need to grind the axle down a bit in order to get the center caps to fit.

However, does anyone know if there are any similar issues to putting Gen 4 wheels on a Gen 3 Expy? I'm looking at a set of the FX4 6 spoke 18" wheels for my 2016. I'm assuming not, just thought I'd check the collective wisdom here.

And in the 2016 Limited trim (20" wheels) i'm assuming there won't be any issues with brake calipers etc when switching to a Ford oem 18" rim....

Thanks in advance.

So I went ahead and put 2018 FX4 Expedition 18" wheels on my 2016. Tires are Falken Wildpeak in SL rating, standard size 275/65/R18. I don't tow and if i do it will be something light like a small boat or pop-up camper. I had the SL Wildpeaks on my F-150 and they were great all around on the road and on 4x4 roads in the mountains. I'm overall happy with the look.
I may do a smallish lift next. If anyone is wondering what this looks like, here it is:
