Having trouble with 2019 Max Limited 3rd folding 60 part of seat. I think it's jammed up with the gears out of the place because the seat seems too far back and the recline switch does not work either. The 40 part works. I can't find any parts numbers for these gears and the metal rod type spindle that allows the seat to fold. Any ideas would be appreciated. Its just is outside the warranty period.

Any luck with this? I may have the same issue with mine. Makes a clicking sound but no movement and the 60 is stuck in the up position. the 40 works fine. Had a similar issue last year and the dealer said there was a crayon in the track, but i can't find anything now and there doesn't seem to be a track anyways. As you said, more of a gear and splined shaft operating it.

I have a 2019 Expedition XLT MAX FX4 and my diver side 3rd row is doing the same thing. When you push the fold down switch it just clicks. The passenger side folds down just fine. I check the fuse and it is just fine when removed all seat functionality is gone. When I push and hold the reclining button you can hear it click repeatedly, when the fold down switch is pushed in the truck it just has one click. For the previous posts, what have you found to be the solution? If I could get it folded down I could at least access the motors on each side easier.

I have the same issue with driver side 3rd row. Happened once before while under warranty and dealer said they had to reprogram the ECM to recognize/relearn the 3rd row seat. There was never anything stuck in the tracks/gears or blockage under the seat, and no motor failure either; ECM just forgot what to do when the button was pushed?? It tried to lower, about 4 inches, then returned to the full upright position. My guess is that one of the two motors is not getting the signal to operate?, causing the momentary operation down, then back to upright. I will most likely have to take it to the dealer again, this time out of warranty :-(

9/12/2023 UPDATE:
I was able to get my 3rd row seat (driver side) to work again. I ended up using the recline button (on driver side rear pillar between 2nd and 3rd row seats) to rock the seat back and forth several times, the last time, I left the seat in the forward most position (there are three positions the seat can position to with this button, forward-normal-reclined); from there, I went to the rear of the vehicle and operated the fold-down button and it finally went down completely. I cycled the seat several times after that, from the rear of the vehicle, with no problems. I hope this helps others who are suffering with the same issue.
