While in the Black Hills near Custer drove out to visit a friend and see his off the grid location. Road to his place was dirt gravel and about 8 miles each way.

the following day I loaded the car the drive home and found a 1/2 inch wide dust ring 360 degrees inside the hatch seal.

the hatch lift mechanism was coated with a lot of red dust.

cleaning it all out no big deal but could be an issue.

dust dirt in luft rods and auto close coukd be a long term issue

I have noticed that the hatch close button is a bit touchy after some dirt driving. I notice it's not easy to get that area washed, even with a high pressure wash pointed at the gap between the hatch and the body.

I have come to accept that dirt will get into anything that doesn't have a rubber seal - dirt bike, bed cover on my truck, jeep wrangler ... So they will need extra cleaning attention.

What matters is that dirt doesn't get into the cabin! (or in the case of my adventure bikes, into the side and/or top bags)
