Hi, I have a 2020 Limited I bought used a year ago, now has 40K mi. Also have used Salem Ford for parts as I live 15 minutes from there. My trans mostly works fine but has "harder than it should be" shifting (I can't tell between which gears, but it's the same 2 every time). I've been following these threads and anticipate trouble down the road. I asked them about it last time I was in and they recommended the "re-learn" option as a start, but I think it was $200 or so and I haven't done that yet. From what I read, its only temporary anyway. I'm under the mileage but past the 5-year mark, so I assume I have no warranty claim? Anyway, just curious how you made out?
If im you, and you plan on keeping the expy for a long while, id invest in a Ford PremiumCare extended service plan now! The tranny WILL fail sooner or later.

I have a 2019 and almost everytime it shifts up into 6th gear its a hard shift, like a small jerk with a clunk noise. Plan on bringering her in if its gets worse or before my warranty/ESP ends for sure or I might just trade it in for something with better quality

After 9 years of owning a 2010 Eddie Bauer Expedition, I replaced it with 2020 Expedition with 60,500 miles in January. I am now at 67,500 miles. The vehicle has had a rough shift from 5th to 6th once the engine is warmed up, but now I am receiving "SHIFT SYS FAULT" and "See Manual" warnings. My local shop said that this is a dealership issue. My local dealership in Houston has quoted me $11,500 for a transmission and cooler replacement.

Has anyone seen an estimate this high before?20250905_081043.jpg20250905_081023.jpg

That’s insanely high. The entire trans with torque converter is around $4500-$6k at most dealers. Check this link to the below and check a few dealers since they do vary in price,

Parts.Ford.com

You can buy it over the counter, pay the core and have it installed then return the core for a refund. They do offer Warranties from Ford built into the purchase price as well.
