New 2024 Expedition RWD, XLT.. The steering is slower than I expected (4 turns "lock-to-lock", and the steering wheel is fairly large in diameter). Anyone else have any issues with this? I owned a 1997 and a 2007 Expedition, and, this new one seems slower than either of those.... Thanks...

Are you saying the steering wheel is slow/difficult to turn, or your Expedition has a large turn radius?

NO concerns with the large turn radius..I've driven large SUVs for decades.. Tahoes.. Expeditions.. etc.. I'm saying I really have to "saw" the wheel more than I'm used to...(lot more turns of the wheel). to make a turn.. like pulling into a parking spot.. also not complaining about the steering "effort" (there is plenty of steering assist with the power steering).. Maybe just perception on my part..

I agree as well. My garage is one that you go up the driveway then a 90 degree turn into the garage. I really am aware of the amount of turns backing out then essentially having to turn the wheel full lock - meaning when i back out i turn to the left full lock then all the way to full lock the other direction.

In fairness, the Expedition is my wifes and I’m driving a sport sedan most of the time so I’m use to a much quicker turning car.

Put your Expedition in the shop for a month and a half and get them to loan you a supercab F150 while it's in there. Dang Expedition turns on a dime when you get it back.

When I test drove, then ordered my 2018 Expedition new, I noticed this immediately compared with my 2008 Expedition. What used to be called the steering gear ratio is different. I though perhaps designed that way for benefit of lane keep assist function. Never driven a later model Expedition, thought maybe Ford might modify later on.
