U know what. You are probably right. I did a quick check on the Ford website originally. Thought I grabbed the right info. Next time, I will grab links the first time. I only want to help.
Good on you. It takes real courage to say “I was wrong”.

Unless you’re running 40’s why would you need anything lower than 3:73’s? Do we know if the Expy has the 8.8” front and rear or 8.8” front, 9.75” rear? Or something totally different? If it uses either of these diff’s I have seen as low as 4:88.

Did not realize my Expedition SWB 4x2 would have been 3.15 had I not opted for HD Tow. My Yukon had 3.42; I would've been bummed! Was going that route over interior color option, then at last minute found one w/HD tow at another dealer for $500 more with black interior. We bought this specifically to tow with and even though the trailer is only 4300#'s loaded the get up and go for entering highways, etc. is fantastic.

Foz, I am bumping up 2 tire sizes to 34.3s, raising her up in height, and adding additional bolt on weight.

So, depending on my ultimate future plans may want to match--or even lower slightly, my final drive and crawl ratio.

It depends on the $$$ cost for the swap as well.

Best of both lower and higher gear. The 2017 shorty 4 x 2 HD tow has a 3.55. Looking to buy this week!

Payload 1400 something, but did not buy as change of heart. Holding out for an El.

No 3.55 on any Expedition I’m aware of. The 5.4L came with 3.31 or 3.73. The 3.5L came with 3.15, 3.31, or 3.73.

3.55 is an F-150 ratio (all engines). You could also get 4.10 with the 6.2L only. But 3.55 and 4.10 never have been available on the Expedition.

For anyone who's curious, the towing guide has all the available drive ratios listed and is widely available via Google search.
