Hey all, this is my first time posting in a forum ever so please don't go too hard on me. I'm trying to get some concrete information regarding what parts between all third gen expeditions are interchangeable. Browsing websites like Stage 3 or Icon I only see real suspension lifts available for the 2014+ expedition. Being that its still the same generation and body style, I'm curious to find out what actually changed for those years in the suspension department. Doing my own research, the shock part numbers are the same all the way up to the fourth generation so I'm having a hard time believing the suspension lifts for the newer models are exclusive to that body style. I personally have a 2010 EL XLT and am currently on just a Ebay spacer kit but I'm finally looking into upgrading it with some kind of real lift and getting rid of the spacer. Any help regarding strange and unlikely combos that people have used effectively from the F150 or other Fords is greatly appreciated.

The front shock lower attachment mount changed in 2014. The rear shocks are pretty much the same from 07+ however.

F150 parts of similar year will work for the front, rear is Expedition specific of course.

I want to know the same thing. I have a 2013 model and want to upgrade the suspension without spacers.

They sell the front for the 2013, but not the kit for front and back.

2014+ rear kit will bolt right up to the rear of your 2013.

At least I'm doing some reading before posting a new thread!

So if I understand this correctly, I can buy a kit for the rear that fits a 2014+ expedition (such as the icon 91821C 14-20 EXPEDITION 4WD .75-2.25" REAR 2.5 VS RR CDCV COILOVER KIT) at https://iconvehicledynamics.com/products/91821c
and then also,
the front kit that fits a 2013 Ford F150 (such as the icon
ICON K93002T 2009-13 Ford F150 4WD, 0-2.63" Lift, Stage 2 Suspension System, Tubular UCA) at https://iconvehicledynamics.com/products/k93002t
and they should fit?

For clarity, what I'm looking for is a smoother ride on rocky dirt roads, not a huge lift or increased travel.

Baja Marsupial,

I was happy with the half inch lift using Bilsteins on my 2014. All the while I was considering the Icon product that you list above. My thoughts are that the Icon will work but the cost is high. I think it is worth a shot since the Icon shock is specific for off-road and can handle the extreme use without overheating the fluid.

Give it shot, post some photos!

Expensedition,

Thanks for the extra info. It looks like your picture has new upper and lower control arms as well? But the picture is titled '2014' so maybe yours is a 2014 and you don't have the same problem I do where there are no kits for it?
