4 wheel not working on 98 exped

Has anyone else had a problem with 4 wheel high? I have a 98 xlt exped. When I set the dash switch to 4 wheel high, auto 4 wheel or 4 wheel low power only goes to the rear wheels. I just got stuck in the snow because my front wheels where not getting any power. I have 20 inch rims with goodyear low profile tires, but I don't think that should stop the front wheels from going.

Any help?

Sounds like the solenoid that should be activated by the switch is not working, or the switch might be bad.

Thanks - it turned out to be a vac seal. almost $400 for my ford dealer to replace it. All is working fine again.
