$400 expedition, one year on the road

well, today one year ago I bought my expy after it was parked for 6 mos due to intake gasket problems and poor maintenance. She was on the way to the scrap yard later that week as per the previous owner.

drove out of the edge of the woods on his property at 276k miles and put 15k miles on her this year, we're sitting at 291k and should hit the big 300k around summer of '15

I just thought I would take the time to thank the forum members who have taken the time to answer questions. I hope to continue to contribute as well

How much have you have to put into it dollar wise to get it / keep it running over the past year? just curious as thats really cheap for a truck and rare that deals like that work out, kudos to you, clean looking rig

I am MAYBE at $1900 total invested with the $400 included. Tires took $650 of that though.

and did you put a price tag on your labor. Which I know cost you nothing but still is worth something

But if indeed you work for free let me know when your coming up to PA and I'll have a nice job on my expy for you LOL

Ha, yeah, labor is free for me, but if I were to sell, it would be at $2800 if I could get it, $2200 if i was in a hurry to move it out. either way I can't really lose. Even though I have time and money invested, I have some real world experience that I keep.

The biggest thing was recharging an open air conditioning system after having it sit open. I've already gotten some work from friends this past summer from knowing how it all works.

sweet man! I would say this would make an interesting thread topic of "how much have you put into your expedition". I bought mine to provide a safety net for my aging ford escort but I have still put less money in the escort in the last 5 years than in the last one year of owning my expedition.....
