4R70W trans. B&M shifter install/ console

Anyone ever install a B&M Hammer Shifter #80885 in an Expedition..? I gots a 4.6L w/4R70W 4WD, and before I rip the center console apart, I got a adapter #40496 from B&M for a ford AOD trans..... But it looks like when I drop the trans pan to change the linkage , it's gunna' be real close to the drive shaft for the Frt. whl drive..? Anyone run through this b4.....? I manged to get a 5 speed manual stick through my console. I would imagine that a little bit of work you can fit anything through it.
