Hello world I'm having a problem with my 4x4. I have a 2007 expedition max limited. When I select 4x4 I get all the right notifications switch in process and then the display reads 4x4. However the truck is not in 4x4. So my truck thinks it's working and not popping up any error codes. Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be.

Thanks

Also jack the front of your truck up in 2HI and leave the engine off. Turn the front wheels one at a time by hand, they should spin with the half shaft and be locked in when off as the vacuum is not present to disengage the hubs. They should both be locked if not one is stuck and not engaging. Next turn the truck on in 2HI and turn them by hand, now vacuum is present with the engine running and both should spin free and separate from the half shaft. If engine off one spins freely most likely a bad hub actuator not engaging the hub. Mine were staying locked engine off or on and it turned out my 4WD solonoid went bad and the computer could not communicate with it and it made my system act up.

i haven't yet been able to jack up my truck to check the wheel spin however i did get under it and with my neighbor selecting 4x4 and back to 2 there was nothing happening with the electric motor on the the transfer case. i checked all fuses all good and i checked for voltage with a test light at the connector of the electric motor, several of the pins had power. is there a wiring schematic showing what pins should have power in each mode?

The part that says “Made In USA” on top is the part. If you lean over the front of the truck it’s on the vacuum reservoir up front to the left of the fan shroud.
