4x4 problem - 2000 Expedition

there is not a light for A4WD only light is for 4H and 4L

...

Was that a change from the earlier Gen 1's?

My '97 has an A4WD light on the dash when the system is engaged...

your 97 also has a mode selector switch that has a 2wd position the 99 and above only has a mode switch for A4wd, 4H and 4L hence no light for A4WD as its always in it unless someone made some mods like brown wire mod

And 1997 are vaccuum 4x4. 2000 are electric

true Thanks for that update Just because its a 1st gen doesn't mean they are all the same and that makes life very interesting if not frustrating

Thanks for that, couldn't remember where the change occurred. I actually thought it was later than that.

Updates 2014-02-06

I've changed the transfercase electric motor for a new one. That solve all my problem.
