5.4L to 5.4L swap

I see a lot of posts about doing a 5.4L to Lightning swap in the Expeditions. But has anyone done a 5.4L Navigator 4 cam engine swap?

i want to do that swap. its the same motor in the GT. well... iron block instead of aluminium.

i dont think too many people on here have swapped their motors for anything other than stock. lots of work required with wiring harnesses and such.

See I modify everything I own. I also work as a technician for Ford. So I see a 5.4L 4 cam engine and think, hmmm. A gt500/GT 5.4L in a expedition or a Navi engine in a Expedition and tthe wheel turn. I bought a 88 Thunderbird and put a fuel injected 351W in it because I wanted to do it and see people talk about it alot.

Now I know this thing I have sucks fuel and lacks power so I was looking into a Navi engine swap for more power and alot more power options. I just have not seen it done yet on here. Just alot of questions and no answers. I figured the same year engine and pcm with the engine harness....maybe more. Not sure. Just was seeing if it was done yet.

Oh I will. I am going to start looking into wire diagrams and trans compatibillity and all the fun stuff. The look at superchargers.

yes please do. i would love to see that done. i wanna do it and turbo it. but i would runn my own piping cause everyone on here knows what lack of room we have under the hood to do stuff. so i might as well custom make it.

I did some searching and found there was info on online f-150 forum. Seems that I can swap the Navi engine into the Expedition and only have to swap my Exped oil pan and pick up onto the Navi engine. Use the Navi cat y pipe. Then I need a better torque converter and a custom dyno tune on the engine. You can use your wire harness and PCM from the Exped. I guess a member on here has done this swap and also added a supercharger to it. black02exped is his name. he is on the onlinef-150 forum.

hmmm... makes me want to do it even more now that i know its easy to do! well... easy as a engine swap can be. what about motor mounts? are they same? i would upgrade them so i can add more power to the engine and not worry.

For us gen 2 guys check out that big daddy performance 03 expy 600hp its on youtube, i believe he did the same engine swap and put a 4r100 trans and lightning rear end on it, i love the lightnings a co worker of mine has 2 of them a red daily driver and a grey track only.

I think it uses the stock expy or navi mounts. The engine bottom end dementions are the same.
