I'm going to replace the plugs on my '98 5.4 Eddie Bauer. It looks like the correct plug for this is a Motocraft Platinum Iridium SP479. Does everyone concurr? I want to make sure I buy the correct ones.
Thanks,

Just had a email and discount coupon for Advance Auto and bought Autolite Double Platinum plugs for $26 including tax. Will pick them up in the am and install them later this week.

I have a 97 and I put in the SP-459 Motorcrafts. Make sure to blow each hole out after you remove the coil packs, so crap does not fall down the cylinder when you take out the spark plug. Make sure you have a lot of extensions and swivels. I did mine last Sat. and it took about 5 hrs to get done. Good Luck

Make sure you know the torque spec for the plugs. Start them with your fingers and use a torque wrench to tighten them.

I'll be sure to follow the advice I've read here on the forum. A nice note: I purchased my plugs from Advance Auto on line and when I went to pick them up they were 2 short so the store manager upgraded me to iridium plugs at no additional cost. I think this will work out pretty good.
