Hey guys,

I have a 98 expy eddie bauer w/5.4 and 4 wheel drive. I just converted all 4 air suspension to the Monroe 90010 kit. Love it. I am now going for new rims and tires.

The existing original tires and rims are P265/70R17. I want to go maybe a bit larger. I was wondering how big I can go without really changing the trucks ride too much or without having to make any type of modifications, lifting cutting etc.

I was just looking for a something to make the truck look a little bit better without changing the ride. I do not go off road and hardly tow.

Thanks again guys.

I am looking to spend $1500.00 give or take. Not looking for a monster off road tire, but....I do drive in snow in the winters here in NJ. Most driving is highway. Looking for something that will not change the ride too much and last. But also want that big tire look. I do want to go up in size, just not sure how much I can get away with.

Will an 18 inch rim work? Too big? how wide?

Thanks.

Brian.

I had an 01 f-150 with 285 70 17 they worked really good... I have an 03 Exp with 275 70 17 and really like it I like the 17's cause you get better and deeper tread on the tire. Same tire that my brother in-law has on his 20's and I have about 1/4 or an inch more tread when they are brand new.

What size rim and tire can I go up to without making any mods to the truck. Do I need to stay with a 17 inch rim which is what I have now. How much bigger tire size can I go. Existing is a P265/70R 17.

Thanks.

Sorry to keep asking. I want to start looking at new rim and tire combo's and just want to know how much bigger I can go and have "NO" problems at all with rubbing, the way it will ride etc. Should I keep it at 17 inch, can I go up a size. How much bigger can I go, I now have 265/70R17's. Thanks.

I am not looking for a low profile type tire, but more of on/off road type tire. Right now I have 265 70 17's. How big a tire can i go without making any type of modifications. Might even keep the OEM riims for now.

I saw someone used a first gen rim from a 1998 and it looked like he went up more then a few tire sizes.

Thanks again.
