As the title says that Auto mode for my HVAC controls is stuck on. I can change the temperature and the fan speed will change with temperature. But I can't leave the temp, for example at 60 deg., and then decrease the fan speed like we used to.

Even if I hit the button that lets you change the airflow to face, feet, etc. the fan stays on high and will not change fan speed.

Plus if I hit the OFF button it starts blowing on high throught the defrost.

Any ideas......I'm taking it to a local Auto Electric shop to see if they can find anything since the local stealership wanted $100 "diagnostic" fee just to look at it.

One more thing, how hard is it to change out the whole control unit? If the whole unit is bad and has to be changed out I would like to see if I could do that myself. Thanks for the help!

Ok.....talked with the shop I took it to earlier today and he said it was a blower motor control switch, I think. Anyways he said with parts, labor, taxes, and everything it would be about $200. Does this sound right? Anybody had one replaced before?
