My AC has been blowing through the defrost vents on acceleration then going back to the panel vents on normal driving (cruising). I thought I had this fixed with new vac hoses and check valve as it was working correctly for a while. Well, apparently not.

I saw a video about ac controller (EATC) repair. I am going to attempt this today once the mail delivers my O-Rings. Anyway, on the back of the unit where all the vac lines attach, it appears to be missing a hose.20180627_100726.jpg

When I trace all the other hoses back into the dash, there isn't another hose there, and they are all taped together. Does anyone know if there is supposed to be one there?

After this, the only other thing I can think of is the vac canister. Is there anything I am missing? Also, is there a paint I can get to clean up around the dash bezel? It looks horrible.

So while waiting on my mail, I decided to open it up and get ready for the first one. It looks like mind has tac welds holding the actuators in....UGGH. Back to the drawing board.20180627_120749.jpg 20180627_120801.jpg

What about the main unit in dash gone caput! We had those fail on our Crown Vic cabs all the time, worth a shot.

That is part of the main unit. I have company coming so I ordered a refurbished one. Hope I can just plug the new one in and everything works. It's too hot in Florida to have AC issues. The truck has 257000 miles on it and I don't know that the control unit has ever been changed. Didn't look like it, but you never know.

I got it off eBay for 109 plus a $75 core charge. It came very quick and took about 15 minutes to put it in. I wish I would have known this information last year. Could have avoided the entire issue.
