so i am having trouble with my ac about a year ago i took it to a shop to get looked at turns out the condenser was leaking the refrigerant so i had them replace it and recharge my system everything was good till right about a month ago i tried my ac and all i would get is hot air checked the little vacuum lines that are behind battery and all are fine i also here a hissing noise coming from behind the glove box area if any of you guys have any suggestions it would be highly appreciated.

I haven't worked on the second gens but on the 1st gens there is a vac line right above the heater core box. You have access through the top of the dash by removing a long plastic piece. Guessing they didn't change the design that much between the two.

Do you know if the compressor is cycling on and off?

I have an 04 expy... this hissing you are hearing.... does it come and go with your engine rpm? what you may be hearing is what I also hear. I hear refrigerant running through the expansion valve. it is normal unfortunately. mine is hardly noticeable. another thought would be vacuum lines. the damper motor in the evap/heater case is vacuum operated. if you switch the air flow direction switch and notice the noise changing with it... that could be the culprit.

I worked on automotive ac for over 10 years and I am right down the street from you in Fullerton if you want to meet and I can take a look.
