It's really whatever the user is comfortable with. Me I always go overboard; I splice and solder.

I'm with you. I don't want to have to get back in there because my power is cutting out, or the inverter starts smoking.
I think I read on one of the Motorcraft parts they recommend stripping back 1", solder the splice, fold it back and heat shrink.

I usually use marine connectors on my automotive wiring because they're made to be watertight.

Thanks i was going to alldata.com. And thats fine for me the 15-17 expeditions are the same with maybe some minor differences.

Took the Expedition Diagram and modified it; added the F150 110V outlet on it. So now it shows how the connections should be made from the Inverter (C2293) to the F150 outlet (C2292)

C2293 pin 10 to C2292 pin 6
C2293 pin 11 to C2292 pin 4
C2293 pin 1 to C2292 pin 3
C2293 pin 7 to C2292 pin 1
