Well, technology has come a long way since. If I were to do it again, I'd do Bluetooth. I use this dongle in our camper, and it's fantastic. Give it 12v+ and ground (all available right in the wires on the back of the DVD) and call it a day. Maybe add a small round rocker to shut it off when need, though not necessary.

Thanks for the write-up.
Ordered this last night... I had planned to run cable like your original write up until I saw this thread, and your Bluetooth suggestion.
Do you happen to know which wires to tap by chance?

Much appreciated,
Simon

Great Write up. I did this mod on a 2003 Explorer a few years back. and now will do it on a Navigator that I just bought so I can use my Sirius/Xm radio.
