Hello All,

New to forum and looking to see if anyone has added fog lights to there non fl equipped exp.

I have checked my under hood fuse/relay junction box and there is no connectors in it for the fuse or relay. Has anyone taken the junction box apart and added the jumper pins in on for the fuse and relay? I know that it was a simple procedure on a Saturn fuse box to add the terminal jumpers for the fog lights on it. It took me 5 minutes to install them on the wife's car.

If it's not going to be a simple procedure on the truck will add KC Daylighter's instead of factory fog in the front bumper.

Thanks for any help.

Well, the light output alone between the factory fogs and KC dayliters is not even close. If you're thinking about KCs, then just do those.

I have the factory fog lights and never use them. They are pretty worthless. I'm going to add some kind of aux driving lights behind the grill.

The wiring for the factory fog lights is there. Look on the frame rail close to the bumper for the connector. Next you need the headlight switch with the fog light option. You can get brighter driving lights that mount in the stock bumper location. It's an easy bolt on plug in install.

I have the headlamp switch with fog I picked up at a pick & pull yard.

In my under hood fuse/relay box there are no female connectors inside the receptacle hole for the fuse or fog light relay so I doubt the wiring is under the truck but will have a look.

I guess no one has taking the fuse/relay box apart to see if the jumpers can be added for the relay and fuse.

I head back to pick & pull and get me a fuse/relay box to experiment with.

This is what I had to do to add the factory fog lights to the wife's Saturn.
I had to add the female jumper pins so the fuse and relay had a place to plug into.

So was checking to see if it could be done the same or similar on the Ford.

I did this retrofit a few years back. I agree with 98EXPnSRQ that there is a harness zip tied underneath the bumper and it appears long enough to reach the fog lamp location. However I also concur with Tim that the fuse box appears empty. In addition, you will need to purchase the switch separately. With those 2 issues in mind and no guarantee I can get it done, I decided to add a relay harness.

I wired the relay 2 ways:
1st and primary is theyre triggered by the park lamps. So with park lamps on, fog lamps on. So I can run the foglamps on with the headlamps off.
2nd is a separate dash switch so I have the option to run it as a DRL. And I just added a diode so they dont short each other

The diagram doesnt outline the relay. but you get the idea

I also agree with Tom that theyre near worthless, but I liked having them anyway. We always like something we dont have haha

I didn't have to add any relays or jumpers. I just plugged the lights in and the new switch in and it worked. My XLT didn't come with fog lights.

I ordered a brighter driving light instead of the stock fog lights. They work very well. I got them on Amazon and this is a pair. The link is below.

Good to know. And that actually makes more sense for ford to have the harness complete. oh well...

we may have the same clear fog lamps. And I did put HIDs on mine, I decided to get yellows which may explain why mine is a bit dim

For the Saturn I got the connectors from donor car.

For the truck it's not as simple but from the underhood fuse box to the lights you going to have to take the box apart and add the wires with female locking terminals to add the relay and fuse to the fuse box you will have to get them from a donor Ford.
