This more about fixing the adjustable pedals that we have. But I am curious, why would it cause a problem on a lifted vehicle since everything they connect to is on the firewall. Am I missing something?

Thanks,

I have no clue but when I was looking for a lift for my 07 (which no one makes) the reason was 1. bc of the adjustable pedals 2. bc of the advanced trace

maybe they meant body lifts only though....

Hmm, I have no idea at all why it would or would not matter if the pedals are adjustable....They are in now way hooked to anything between the frame and the body, nor does over all height of the vehicle matter to the pedals...

Mine works great now that I replaced it with one of your gears. Thanks so much for doing this Chris. Guys if you want your pedals to work, you should get one of these gears. The hardest part is getting the screws out of the cap.

Just curious, there seemed to be a decent amount of interest in this repair when we first discussed making the gears...now I have them on the shelf ready to go and interest seems to have waned...:banghead:

It this a part that commonly fails? just curious. Sounds like something I may need to have on hand. Wifey is short and I'm somewhat tall, so those pedals are always moving

If you have an Expedition with adjustable pedals - yes. My pedals wouldn't move. I purchased and installed the gear and they move like the were new and they'll never break again.

The factory uses a plastic gear in the brake pedal assembly to move it...it cracks and then won't allow either pedal to move. The factory fix is to replace the entire brake pedal assembly with another one that has the same gear in it! My gear is brass, no more broken gears.....ever!
