We just got back from a weeks vacation. I noticed that as soon as my phone connects via BT, it shows that I'm in a phone call and doesn't respond to ending the call or anything other button presses/screen taps. I unpaired (forget connection) and everything comes back. So I re-pair with BT and it will still show that it's trying to make a phone call but the buttons on the screen work again. When I plugged my phone in to usb to access car play the audio (XM) turns off. When I unplug it comes back on.
I did the sync3 reset (power + skip track) and then the system will still act like it's in a phone call for about 90 seconds or so then work, but if I plug into USB and use CarPlay the audio still is off (seems like the car still thinks it's in a call).
I believe my sync 3 is fully updated.
