Air Suspension - Odd Noise on Start-up - Compressor?

This may be a dumb question, but I get a loud compressor sound when I start up my 2004 Eddie Bauer w/ air suspension. Sometimes it continues for a bit after I drive for a minute or so. Could that be the compressor unit for the air suspension?

Any advice/opinions will be appreciated.

I thought they fixed that noise oon the newer trucks?

My 97 is really loud, there's a service bulletin and parts pack to make it quieter but it doesn't bother me and I'm too lazy to do anything about it.

Correct. That noise you hear is the compressor adjusting your suspension for the current road conditions and sometimes it will continue for maybe the first 5 minutes of driving. What i would be concerned about is if you DONT hear this noise then your compressor or realy went out.

But this is absolutely normal.
