I just got my 1999 Expedition E.B. driving home I noticed the Check Suspension dash light was on so I crawled under her, the rear looked great, moved to the front and found that both sway bar links were broken, bought and installed new ones, then I noticed that I was sitting on the rubber stops so I started looking at why my compressor was inop. found that the PO had turned it off at the switch. I turned it back on, fired her up and she aired up. My problem is the rear airs way up but looks like the front isnt as high as she should be, only about two inches from the stops that she would rest on, and she wont air down when I shut her off and open the door..........

Erich, odds are, you have either a failed height sensor in the rear or the solenoid valve for the rear bags has failed open. See your post in the other section, I gave a lot more detailed explaination there.

The vent solenoid on the air compressor no longer released the air from the rear bag's or the front shock's. this is a non repairable part so you must purchase a new or rebuilt compressor.

Where did you get the compressor and how much was it?

The sensors will take about 10 minutes to replace, look like little shock absorbers. I assume the o-rings are on the rear bags? If so, jack her up, pull the air line and electrical and the bag comes right out.

Timing is everything my friend as I pcs'd back in April.

the hardest part when I did mine was getting it off the axle mount since the star-lock has a tendency to get very corroded. i used a rubber mallet as the twisting procedure per the manual was 'challenging.'

I also wire brushed the upper mount location, as it too was rusted up, then shot it w/ some spray paint/primer all-in-one before reassembly.
